Description:

• This individual will be responsible between preparing and transitioning projects from one team to another.
• They will be responsible for supporting strategic sourcing initiatives from a technical perspective. In other words, assisting with RFQ analysis, supplier negotiations, logistical analysis and cost/business case analysis and technical analysis.
• They are working with supplier quotes through excel and comparison tools/business case templates and engineering drawings and specs.
• They are responsible for building the framework of a project and helping solidify the execution of a strategy from a technical lens.
• They are pulling this data from various systems, generating reports, and understanding the flow of parts and the overall project.
• They will track the overall project flow to understand the sequence of each event and implications.
• They are assisting the transition project management team with this analysis. They are supporting any forms of questions and ensuring a clean transition.
• Once a project is transitioned, they will subsequently offer support by troubleshooting and validating their analysis.
• This person is helping cover the initial phases of a project prior to execution to ensure that framework and analysis is sound. They are supporting the phase from the time the quotes are received. They are proactively mitigating issues in the future.

Additional Skills & Qualifications:

Must haves:

o 5-10+ years of experience in project management and procurement, manufacturing environments, supply chain.

• Must have technical experience- Understanding of manufacturing processes, interpreting technical drawings and coming up with cost-reduction recommendations based on the manufactured part.

o Aerospace or similar manufacturing environment (Alstom, BRP, CN, Siemens, Bombardier, CAE etc…)

o Someone who has worked with MRP/ERP/SAP

o Must have minimum of a Bachelor’s in a relevant field, ideally engineering.

Ideal Candidate:

• Someone with a form of technical experience (Engineering, Quality, Manufacturing).
• Someone with supply chain experience (How things flow in the MRP system while understanding how things are being made).
• Someone who has commercial knowledge as well as technical and logistical.

• Someone with excellent problem solving abilities and who is able to attack issues in a logical and consistent manner.
• Someone who has great relationship-building abilities and will be able to develop genuine and meaningful business relationships with suppliers.

Assets:

o Technical experience (Mechanical Engineering). I.e: Understanding how the product is being made.

o Reading and interpreting technical drawings.

o Someone with strong commercial knowledge (Negotiation and cost reduction).
