Edmonton Integrated Services (or EIS for short!) is currently looking for a passionate and attentive Community Disability Support Worker (CDSW) with about two (2) to five (5) years’ of proven experience supporting adults with developmental disabilities with high behavioral needs.

About the Role

Based in the Edmonton area, the role of a CDSW is to work collaboratively with and at the direction of the Agency’s Program Supervisor while effectively providing compassionate care and attentive support to adult Individuals Accessing Services (“IAS”) with developmental disabilities and behaviors of concern.

Hours: Thursday - Friday 9am - 2pm and Saturday - Sunday 9am-9pm

The Day to Day:

  • Assist in the development of daily routines and activities that align with the overall needs and development of the Individuals Accessing Services within the Residential Support Program.
  • Ensure the strategies outlined in the Individual’s Support Plans are monitored and being documented regularly and accurately.
  • Establish and maintain effective communication records and reporting within the Program, ensuring administrative procedures as established by the Agency are followed.

Candidate Qualifiers:

  • 2 to 3 years’ working experience providing individual care and support to adults with developmental disabilities, creating and implementing strategies with individuals with high behavioral needs is a must. CPI experience required
  • Formal and/or Professional Education in Rehabilitation or Human Services a major asset
  • Intermediate computer skills with applied experience in Microsoft Office suite (Word, Excel, Outlook)
  • Practical experience and accuracy with maintaining service records and reporting.
  • Strong and professional written and verbal communication in all forms including email, inter-office messaging, texts, and verbal conversation.
  • Ability to interact professionally while building positive relationships with Individuals, their guardians, family members, and other community resources.
