MISSION
To provide independent inspection, testing and certification services along with a technical expertise, superior quality, reliable and accurate services.
The role of the Surveyor is to provide independent and competent assessment of the quantity and quality of inspected products. These products include but is not limited to grains, solid fuels, metals and minerals.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Performs different types of inspections, including compartments inspections, draft survey, vessel’s loading/ discharging operations, SMA, etc. in line with each individual inspection scope.
  • Communicates regularly with admin. staff and provide details of the inspection requirements, job status, progress, problems, etc.
  • Prepares and coordinate the inspection(s): paperwork preparation, permits, and passes to ports and from authorities.
  • Organizes, instructs, and controls work of tallymen during inspections.
  • Reports the progress and status of inspections, sampling, observations, etc, accurately and timely.
  • Prepares final inspection reports upon completion of inspections.
  • Ensures that the samples are correctly recorded/ sealed/ labelled and/ or in-time picked-up, sent, delivered as instructed by the office.
  • Documents full inspection findings, and report to the office in line with any pre-advised formats and deadlines.
  • Ensures the equipment maintenance.
  • Makes independent judgments based on the data collected, use data to determine if product meets client expectations and requirements.
  • Attends and observe the loading and unloading of cargo process.
  • Performs other assignments as directed.
  • Adheres to Company standards, policies, and procedures.
  • Standards – GAFTA, FOSFA, ISO, GMP+, GTP, USDA and others.
QUALIFICATION AND EXPERIENCE
  • Higher education.
  • 7+ years’ experience in the inspection business
  • Proven experience providing independent and competent assessments of the quantity and quality of inspected products.
  • Managerial skills and experience supervising a team
  • Availability to work overtime and to travel.
  • Facility to adapt at any given situation.
  • Good technical knowledge of GAFTA, FOSFA, ISO, GMP+, GTP, USDA and other standards and relevant Codes of Practices. IFIA CoP, Cotecna procedures.
  • Team player.
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills.
  • Comfortable making decisions independently.
  • Ability to work under pressure.
  • Proven experience in problem-solving.
  • Comfortable in a fast-paced environment with minimal. direction and able to adjust workload based upon changing priorities.
