The NIR Area Sales Representative is an entry level position focused on sales and customer support activities as directed by the Regional Sales Manager for the territory. The successful candidate will learn the basics of lead management and qualification, initial product presentation, product demonstrations, conducting feasibility studies, and techniques for obtaining customer commitment for purchase of Bruker products through mentoring by the Regional Sales Manager and Applications/Product Management team members.


This a remote position that will be in the greater Montreal area.

  • Entry-level sales and application support for the Applied Spectroscopy product lines of the BOPT division
  • Evaluation and prospecting of potential clients within Quebec province.
  • Responsible for the full sales process starting with generating leads, evaluating the applications of interest for clients, evaluating the right system configurations, preparing quotations using Bruker good business practices to finalize the sale with the clients through a purchase order
  • Provide demo’s during the sales process, reporting the executed feasibility studies
  • Manage on-site trials when required to close sales
  • Responsible for customer trainings/coordination of trainings at installation or on demand
  • Coordinating shortest possible installation times after delivery together with the other parties involved (client and service team)
  • NOB coordination from PO received to scheduling system installation to secure fastest revenue recognition
  • Seeking new market opportunities and new applications
  • Act as a subject matter expert (SME) when discussing applications at conferences or for promotional events like webinars
  • Represent Bruker Optics at customer events like trade shows, exhibitions, seminars, workshops, & etc.
  • The employee shall directly report to the Regional Team Leader and the Director of Sales & Marketing, North American Applied Spectroscopy

  • Bilingual in French and English required
  • A valid driving license is mandatory
  • Demonstrated ability to learn both the technology and the sales techniques used by Bruker Optics in North America
  • Ability to work in an analytical environment: being focused, ability to deal with complex requests
  • Capable of working in high stress situations with monthly, quarterly, and annual sales targets and KPIs
  • Willingness to travel (at least 50% - 75% of the monthly working time)
  • The position requires good people skills to easily connect with people from different markets and backgrounds
  • Preferably 2 years of sales experience in an analytical environment
  • Education: Bachelor, Master’s or PhD in one of the physical/biological sciences or engineering
  • Must have & be able to maintain valid domestic and international travel documentation
