We are currently accepting applications for an experienced and dedicated TELECOM NETWORK ENGINEER to join the Vincent Communications Team. Reporting directly to the Network Division Manager.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design and implement core networking solutions based on company standards and specifications.
  • Create and redline core network diagrams.
  • Provision and verify labelling of core network and radio equipment for deployment.
  • Implement standardization of core network and monitoring services.
  • Coordinate with Client Network Architect, Tower Infrastructure Architect, and Server Administrator.
  • Monitor and maintain core network services and act when alerts come in.
  • Improve capacity and overall performance of core networks.
  • Identify and recommend improvements to core networks.
  • Document tasks in ticketing system.
  • Mentorship of fellow team members.
  • Assist NOC personnel as needed.
  • Resolve escalation requests.
  • Assist field technicians with core network build outs, troubleshooting, and installations.
  • Be available outside of business hours on an on-call basis for emergencies.

Required Experience and Education:

  • Technology degree or diploma an asset.
  • Design and implementation of Layer 2 and Layer 3 telecom networks.
  • Configuration and deployment of switches and routers from various manufacturers.
  • Strong knowledge of, and advanced skills in the following areas:
  • OSPF layers
  • BGP Carrier Ethernet: CFM, G.8032
  • IP address management
  • VLAN management
  • VPN configuration
  • SNMP protocols
  • Ciena Networking Certification or equivalent preferred.
  • Valid Class 5 Driver’s License with an acceptable Driver’s Abstract.

Required Skills:

  • Advanced understanding of network architecture fundamentals.
  • Must be physically fit and be able to safely lift 30 lbs.
  • Strong English communication skills with the proven ability to communicate with respect and professionalism.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and use of good judgement in response to unexpected problems.
  • Reliable and dependable.

Salary: $85,000.00-$95,000.00 per year
