Territory Sales Manager (Consumer Goods, Remote)

Our client, an established Consumer Goods supplier of packaged Soil and Mulch products is looking to hire a Territory Sales Manager to join their team on a Permanent, Full-time basis.

Rooted in processing yard wastage into premium compost, our client is committed to the environment, community involvement, and “Building a Sustainable Future, Together.”

This position will be in field with a Remote-Home Office. Candidates will ideally be centrally located in Mississauga, Milton, Kitchener, Waterloo, Guelph, Burlington, Hamilton or Oakville. For candidates that would like to go into an office on paperwork days, our client has office locations in Oakville, Niagara, and in Arthur, Ontario. Visits into the office and plant in Arthur, ON (just north of Guelph) for important meetings will be required. Please inquire further for details.

Reporting into the National Sales Manager, the Territory Sales Manager will be responsible for managing the current list of retailers, and growing the client list to achieve sales and profitability targets on a blend of Existing Brand and New Brand sales.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Develop and collaborate to build strong relationships with independent garden centres in line with divisional, corporate and brand objectives
  • Build on the base of current listings and expand into new brands for portfolio growth
  • Execute and achieve sales budgets
  • Work internally with marketing, product development and operations to develop account specific plans that maximize sales, profit, merchandising, distribution and market share
  • Implement sales promotions that maximize both volume and brand growth while building brand equity
  • Utilize and analyze market and account specific data to develop strong fact-based sales plans for internal communications as well as sales presentations to customers
  • Represent Company at customer events, trade shows, conferences, and company events.

EDUCATION:

  • Post-secondary education

REQUIREMENTS:

  • 3+ years of Sales experience, preferably for consumer goods selling into the independent retail environment
  • Experience selling into National Account retailers would be an asset
  • Knowledge/interest in the Lawn and Garden Category of the retail industry an asset
  • Proven success developing, presenting, and implementing business plans
  • Proven success directly managing and selling to independent retailers
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications
  • Have a valid driver’s license and own a car
