Employment Status Full Time Employment Type Fixed Term Job Summary Specific Duties
  • Perform toolroom duties on a daily basis including inventory control, providing tools, equipment, supplies, coveralls and other items required by students and faculty.
  • Initiate purchases of tools and supplies as required.
  • Expedite the purchasing procedure through contact with suppliers, faculty, administrators, purchasing department.
  • Pick up and deliver divisional mail, supplies and equipment when required.
  • Issue lockers to students.
  • Maintain proper records of all toolroom transactions.
  • Do minor repairs to tools and shop equipment.
  • To carry out all out duties in a safe and proper manner with due regard for applicable W.C.B. Health and Safety Regulations. To report any unsafe conditions, processes, or equipment immediately.
  • Monitor WHMIS compliance within the work area including keeping an inventory of controlled products, maintaining the MSDS binder, and ensuring containers of controlled products have correct WHMIS labelling.
  • Control the dispatch and return of specialty equipment.
  • Repair and maintenance of specialty equipment.
  • Repair of power tools for other departments.
  • Training new employees in toolroom operations, supplies, etc.
  • You will be part of a team actively engaged in contributing to and accomplishing the vision, mission, and goals of the College and in supporting the aspirations and needs of our learners.
  • You will promote a positive work atmosphere by interacting and communicating in a professional manner that demonstrates mutual respect with students and colleagues.
  • Other related duties as assigned by the Operations Manager, Trades.

Skills & Qualifications
  • Must have current Level 2 First Aid Ticket.
  • Good organizational skills some record keeping.
  • Good communication skills oral and written.
  • Basic knowledge of trades programs and tools used.
  • A willingness to learn keyboard or basic computer skills.
