HIRING: Treeplanters

LOCATION: Remote Northern Ontario, Various Locations

Description:

Haveman Brothers is a family-owned forestry services company in Northern Ontario. Our employees work in some of Ontario’s most beautiful and rugged landscapes. We are seeking individuals to join our team for the upcoming 2023 treeplanting season. We will be planting seedlings in areas that have been logged to regenerate trees for future generations and ensure a renewable cycle.

The majority of our treeplanters are university or college students but we hire applicants from all walks of life. Our treeplanter positions are student friendly. Most contracts run from the start of May until early July.

There is the possibility of brush work or exploration work contract extensions after the treeplant ends.

This job is piece work, meaning employees are paid based on the number of trees they plant. Pay schedule is bi- weekly, 12 cents per tree and up. Brush work contracts pay a competitive flat daily rate which varies depending on position & experience. Contact us for more information.

  • Tent Camps which include showers, drying tents, dining tents and possibly laundry if the nearest town is inconvenient.

  • Reliable transportation to and from the work site is provided.
  • Work schedule of 5-days on/2-days off. Sundays are always a day off. Hours of work are 7 am-5 pm.

What you offer:

  • Comfortable with working outdoors in all conditions and good attitude.
  • Find or provide your own transportation to the camp or the nearest airport or bus station pickup location.
  • Flexible with start and end dates.
  • Able to carry up to 50 lbs, physically fit and able to move across uneven, rugged terrain.
  • Comfortable with working alone and encountering wildlife (bears, caribou, foxes). We provide training!
  • Able to communicate in English
  • Able to handle excessive biting insects and wasp/bee encounters.
