GFL Environmental is looking for a Class 1 Driver to join our Winnipeg, MB Team!

The Class 1Driver will be responsible for transporting, removing, delivering, and collecting various liquid hazardous wastes from various customer sites. They will be required to load and unload trucks. They should also have the ability to operate a variety of trucks and equipment including vacuum trucks, box trucks, and any other equipment that fits their license on site if necessary. This Class 1 Driver is typically home most nights.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Haul hazardous liquid waste materials.
  • Load and unload trucks.
  • Perform trip inspections on driving equipment, ensuring safety and roadworthiness.
  • Maneuver trucks into loading or unloading positions, following signals from loading crew as needed.
  • Check all load-related documentation to ensure that it is complete and accurate.
  • Maintain logs of working hours and of vehicle service and repair status.
  • Communicate effectively with the public, customers, and co-workers both verbally and in written form.

Requirements:

  • High School diploma minimum.
  • Valid Class 1 Commercial Driver’s License.
  • Focused and pays attention to details.
  • Weekend work may be required, but typically home most nights (excellent work life balance).
  • Trainable – while years of experience is an asset, we will train the successful candidate.
