The Saskatchewan Ministry of Agriculture, Regional Services Branch, is seeking a collaborative and innovative leader as the Director of the Public Trust Unit.

This position plays a key role in driving the Ministry’s efforts to build trust in modern agriculture. They provide leadership and strategic direction to encourage and support industry to adopt best practices; protect food safety, animal health, and the environment; and partner to build awareness about modern food production.

The successful candidate will:

  • have knowledge of Saskatchewan and Canadian agriculture, as well as public trust issues and stakeholders;
  • be able to lead, coach, and direct a team of talented professionals engaged in the development and implementation of programs and services;
  • collaborate with government and industry partners to identify and address gaps through the development of strategies, programs and initiatives;
  • have experience with public policy and program development, delivery, and evaluation;
  • be able to represent the Ministry on federal-provincial committees and internal working groups to align government and industry efforts to build trust; and
  • have well-developed written and oral communication skills, marketing knowledge, and the ability to work with and influence a variety of stakeholders.

Typically, candidates would have a Degree in Agriculture or Business or a combination of education and experience. Proven experience developing and delivering programs, working with industry stakeholders, and managing human resources and budgets is required.
