Position: Visual Merchandiser – Greater Toronto Area

Position Overview:

The Visual Merchandiser works with the planograms in store to help bring them to life ensuring that we maximize merchandise sales productivity by determining category space allocation and adjacencies to appropriately place product. Ensures that planogram are flexible enough to work with multiple store concepts & assortment. Analyzes and reviews in store sales, activation of merchandise and grouping of merchandise collections. Participates and supervises special projects, new store openings, and seasonal launches. Identifies and quickly resolves presentation issues by escalating to the Manager of Visual Presentation. Supports the creating of the visual directives as needed and assists in the coordination of visual workloads to ensure timely completion.

Essential Job Functions:

· Monthly Meetings with buyers and allocations on the vision, merchandise direction and quantity by collection/category.

· Support the Visual Department in overall window strategy.

· Support new store openings.

· Analyze weekly directive strategies and how it differs from the competition.

· Implement visual presentation strategies with store personnel.

· Development strategies that support business growth – weekly direction tips/practices

· Contribute content and ideas for visual presentation directives

· Ensure visual directions meet corporate standards in different locations for different concept strategies.

· Execute visual direction to set an example of excellent visual presentation for the chain and shoot for directives.

· Provide feedback on all Visual Merchandising communication to the Manager of Visual Presentation, evaluating accuracy and ease/ challenges of execution.

· Weekly tour of stores to see how the directives are being implemented at store level to learn how to constantly improve the visual direction for chain stores

· Complete special projects, as assigned.

Qualifications:

· Post-Secondary Education in the Fashion Field, preferably Visual Merchandising/Presentation or equivalent job-related experience.

· Minimum 2 years retail management or visual merchandising experience.

· Professional, detail oriented, patient, positive team player with high standards and strong work ethic.

· Strong organization and time management skills

· Able to work independently, with minimal supervision

· Compliance and execution commitment

· Strong coaching and training skills

· Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with creativity and enthusiasm

· Excellent problem-solving skills

· Bilingual French an asset

Other Skills/Abilities:

· Ability to work a flexible schedule to meet the needs of the business

· Strong influencing, problem analysis and decision making skills

· Strong ability to teach/train and to facilitate training sessions

· Excellent communication, verbal, written and presentation skills

· Mobility with a current Driver’s License and ability to travel for special projects
