The Cochrane District Social Planning Council is offering a part-time Youth Hub Manager position that must be based in Kapuskasing, ON. This position will be supervised by the Executive Director and work in partnership with the Coordinator. The vision of the CDSPC is to create a supportive and inclusive community for all residents.

Description:

Some of the key duties and responsibilities of the Manager are:

  • Facilitate the youth hub events, coordinate and organize activities, make purchases as necessary with permission from Coordinator.
  • Assist in the ongoing development of the Youth Hub in Kapuskasing, Ontario, including consulting youth.
  • Organize activities and events that ensure the incorporation of tools for adulting, mindfulness, mental health, physical activity, arts, and culture into activities and virtual content creation.
  • Create and post marketing content for hub activities via social media and other relevant channels.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Duration:

The contract will take place between March 2023 and February 2024, with a projected start date of March 2023 (flexible) with the possibility for extension.

Remuneration:

The position will be paid at $25 per hour on a 15 to 20 hour weekly basis. Some evenings and weekend work will be required.

Qualifications/Skills:

  • Previous experience working with youth (12-25 years old) is considered an important asset.
  • Previous experience developing and/or implementing programming for youth.
  • Familiarity with the Timmins Youth Wellness Hub.
  • Comprehensive computer expertise in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint to prepare presentations, populate spreadsheets and databases and prepare professionally written reports.
  • Comfortable working independently and frequent check-ins.
  • Able to manage and create content for social media including Facebook and Instagram.
  • Able to manage multiple deliverables, simultaneously and on-time.
  • Able to work in a team environment to ensure coordination between organizations’ initiatives.
  • Ability to speak French will be considered an asset.
