Overview:

Lutron Electronics Co., Inc has an immediate opening for an Architectural & Design (A&D) Specification Sales Representative in Toronto, Canada. In this position, you will be a key part of the Toronto Specification Team, helping to drive a growing business. You will develop working relationships with key architects and interior designers, uncover business opportunities, and drive specifications and sales. You will educate your clients on Lutron product benefits and our world-class customer support services. You will work synergistically with the local Lutron manufacturer’s Rep agent and Lutron’s Business Development teams. A successful A&D Specification Salesperson will have the following responsibilities:

Responsibilities:
  • Develop new relationships with architects and interior designers to uncover business opportunities in our commercial sector. Vertical markets include but are not limited to Commercial office, Hospitality, Healthcare and Higher education
  • Create single-name specifications around Lutron window systems, Ketra lighting, and lighting controls projects through technical expertise and a high level of customer service
  • Surround and close project specifications through effective communication with team members, the local Lutron manufacturer’s rep agent, channel partners, and other specifying or end-user influencers
  • Maximize the opportunity for customers to experience Lutron’s products in their workplace or at home.
  • Represent Lutron at Industry trade organizations such as AIA, IIDA, ASID and USGBC
  • Become a technical expert on Lutron products for our customers, team members and Reps with an emphasis on our shading solutions
  • Utilize Salesforce CRM tool to maintain customer and project information

Qualifications:
  • BS in Architecture, Architectural Engineering, Interior Design, Construction Engineering or related degree preferred with a greater than 2.8 GPA
  • 5+ years of prior technical sales or industry experience desired
  • Demonstrated ability to learn technical products, their benefits, and specifications
  • Experience solving complex problems within a team environment
  • Lighting design and experience is a plus
  • Knowledge of architectural/construction industry is preferred
