We are looking for an Accounting Clerk

As an Accounting clerk, you could be responsible for maintaining the Museum general ledger and central accounts, processing supplier payment transactions, registering credit card expenses, verifying and registering travel authority and advances, processing travel expense claims, participating in revenue operations, revenue control and the presentation of Museum management reports, assisting with parking services, assisting in maintaining the Museum cash control and deposit function as well as the maintenance of an accounts receivable collection system.

What we are looking for:

  • A concern for order and quality and action oriented;
  • Ability to research information and work with high volume accounts;
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

You have one (1) to three (3) years of relevant experience in:

  • Accounting operations: (e.g., accounts payable, revenue/accounts receivable, general ledger bookkeeping and maintenance);
  • Computerized systems such as Word processing, Excel spreadsheet, e-mail and financial systems;
  • The preparation and analysis of financial reports;
  • Customer service.

Knowledge :

  • Of the Financial Administration Act;
  • Of cash and accrual methods of accounting for expenditures and revenues;
  • Of accounts payable and accounts receivable practices and procedures;
  • Of financial administration methods, practices, and procedures;
  • Of computerized systems.

Education: College Diploma in Finance or Accounting or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

Compensation: $ 54,924 to $ 67,971
Status: 1 Permanent Full-Time Position (# 10363-01) and an Inventory that will be valid for 6 months.
Security Clearance: Enhanced Reliability
Location: 100, Laurier Street, Gatineau, Quebec
