Overview

We’re looking for an accounts payable clerk to process our administrative accounts payable expenses and claims related payments outside of CMS; maintain the vendor database; keep current with numerous policies which provide directives relating to our expenditures; and answer inquiries relating to vendor accounts and accounting policies and procedures. At this time, this is a hybrid position where you will work remotely and be on-site at our Richmond office at least once a week.

What you'll do

As an accounts payable clerk you will:

  • Review, analyze, and process employee expenses, administrative accounts payable, and claims related payments outside of CMS often under very tight deadlines
  • Review, analyze, and process requests for vendor set-up and certification accurately based on a pre-determined set of procedures
  • Review, analyze, and investigate the daily CMS cheque register and decide on the final disposition of these CMS payments
  • Receive and initiate written and verbal communication with various internal departments and external providers, workers, and employers in order to resolve claims related issues

  • Assess all facts presented to choose the appropriate course of action in processing payments

Your experience and educational background:

  • A minimum of grade 12 education
  • A minimum of two years of directly related experience
  • Excellent math skills
