Paddy’s Market is currently looking to add a Part-time Administrative Assistant to our team. This is a perfect Entry Level position. Our store is located just 10 minutes east of Oshawa in the town of Hampton. Paddy’s Market has been a family owned and operated, Major Appliance Retailer since 1955, and we are still proudly serving our community.

Job Summary: As the Administrative Assistant you will be responsible for providing support to other employees. Your job tasks will include data entry, file maintenance, directing phone calls, responding to inquiries, managing paperwork, as well as other clerical functions. You will be reporting to the Assistant General Manager. You will be working in a fast-paced, retail environment, where tasks may be added or changed quickly, and superior customer service must be given at all times. This position has the potential to become full-time for the right candidate.

Requirements:

· Organized, self-starter with proven flexibility to adapt to changes in procedures and job assignments with superior problem-solving skills

· Must possess the ability to multi-task and assist in completing tasks from various departments

· Excellent written and verbal communication skills

· Excellent customer service skills, as you will be working within a retail environment and potentially responding to customer inquiries

· Ability to retrieve messages and respond to customer inquires via email and telephone; direct communications to appropriate parties

· Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, Access, PowerPoint, and Outlook

· College Diploma in Business Administration preferred

· Reliable transportation

Job Role:

· Maintain/update documentation on in-house Health and Safety Website

· Maintain Organizations’ Health and Safety Documentation/Filing System to ensure all documents are complete, up to date and filed accordingly in coordination with H&S Program Manager; includes upkeep of our Preventative Maintenance Program, Monthly Safety Talks, Wellness Program, H&S Communications, SDS Catalogue, and PPE Inventory

· Participate in JHSC in an administrative capacity to ensure all monthly inspections/safety committee meeting minutes are completed, addressed, and filed accordingly

· Assist in Employee On-Boarding; preparing documentation and training binders

· Assist with WSIB reporting/documentation requirements as well as Return to Work Program documentation

· Assist with Warranty Program documentation and mailings

· Assist Accounting Department with filing/document matching

· Liaise with fellow staff members to handle requests and queries from management as well as external partners

· Perform all work-related tasks in compliance with company policies, procedures, legislation, regulation, and directions, and report any hazards, discrepancies etc.

· Maintain/organize office supplies

· Assist in price tag creation and merchandising on the showroom floor

· Participate in Paddy’s Market’s Health and Safety Program; comply with all processes, initiatives, and training to ensure a healthy and safe workplace for all

· Complete other assigned tasks as required; arrive to work Fit for Duty

Part-time hours: 25 per week
