The Financial and Administration Support Team in the Food and Beverage Branch of the Ministry of Agriculture and Food, provides financial, budgetary, procurement and administrative support to the Food and Beverage Branch. The Food and Beverage Branch leads market and business development activities for farmers, food and beverage processors and Indigenous communities as well as key initiatives such as Feed BC, Buy BC, and the BC Food Hub Network. The Branch focuses on research and program development in partnership with government, industry, supply chain partners, academic sectors, and other stakeholders to provide timely advice for the Ministry and support to the sector with respect to emerging trends and issues affecting agriculture and food and beverage processing in B.C.

This position reports to the Team Lead, Finance & Administration Support Team and administers all aspects of a wide variety of contracted services including preparing, tendering, and awarding contracts. Additionally, this position supports the administrative oversight of the procurement process.

Job Requirements:
In order to be considered for this position, your application must clearly demonstrate how you meet the education and experience as outlined below:

Education and Experience:

  • Secondary school graduation or equivalent.
  • Completion of course work in contract management.
  • At least one (1) year of experience in contract preparation and/or management.
  • Experience preparing, tendering and awarding contracts.
  • Minimum one (1) year experience using integrated computer systems and MS Office applications (ie: Word, Outlook, Excel).


Preferences:

  • Completion of the Province of BC’s Procurement and Contract Management Program courses.
