FrontCounter BC provides a range of services to the public and to other government agencies involved in utilizing and managing Crown land and natural resources. FrontCounter BC assists clients by coordinating access to tenures, permits, licenses, Crown land sales, and grants for all the natural resource sector agencies. FrontCounter BC is a single window service for businesses and individual citizens seeking information and/or authorizations to utilize Crown natural resources. FrontCounter BC staff help navigate the application process from start to finish.

The Business Services Supervisor leads the Business Services team within the Cross Sector Solutions Division (Permitting/Authorizations and Statutory Decision-Making Team). This position manages and a wide portfolio of systems with the goal of continuous improvement, as well as supports the staff and managers within the FrontCounter BC and Authorizations programs that includes analytics services, systems support, monitoring for organizational performance and oversight and development of polices, standards, procedures and strategies for the delivery of FrontCounter BC operations.

An effective supervisor, you serve as a positive role model for your team, promoting a collaborative and productive work environment and ensuring timely service delivery. You possess excellent interpersonal communication skills and the ability to assist the public with complex and sensitive issues using diplomacy and sound judgment. Job Requirements:
In order to be considered for this position, your application must clearly demonstrate how you meet the education and experience as outlined below:
  • Post-secondary degree in Business Administration, Public Administration, Computer Science, or Natural Resources; OR an equivalent combination of education and experience.

A minimum one (1) year (preference for 2 or more years) of experience for each of the following:

  • Experience working in technical support or customer service delivery programs working directly with a diverse range of clients and stakeholders.
  • Experience with application design, software development life cycle and data management.
  • Progressive staff management experience, preferably in a union setting.
  • Experience analysing business operations and making recommendations.
  • Experience working with partners in translating business needs into practical service delivery solutions.


Preference may be given for any of the following:

  • Experience resolving conflicts both in the workplace and between stakeholder group representatives.
  • Experience in contract development and management, including budget and resources.
  • Experience preparing briefing documents, high level reports, and decision papers for review by others.
