As a Lifeguard or Swim Instructor you will help lead the safe operation of Aquatic Programs while providing service excellence to all our members.
Location: The Peter Gilgan YMCA, 410 Rebecca Street, Oakville, Ontario
Hours of work: Part time position- flexible hours weekdays, evenings and weekends

Salary and Benefits:
- Hourly pay rate- $15.50 Lifeguard and $16.25 Swim Instructor

- Ensuring the safety and well-being of all patrons swimming in the pool
- Following and role modelling all Ontario pool regulations and YMCA of Oakville pool procedures and admission standards
- Keeping certifications and skills up to date and relevant by attending all required staff training
- Teach various levels of swimming from Parent & Tot to Adult lessons
- Develop lesson plans according to the lesson curriculum provided
- Update swim lesson rosters weekly
- Communicate well with parents during their 6-week session update
- Prepare progress cards for all participants
Lifeguard
- Standard First Aid Certificate
- National Lifeguard Certificate
- Standard First Aid Certificate
- National Lifeguard Certificate
- Swim Instructor Certificate (Lifesaving Society or Red Cross)
- LSS advanced instructors (an asset)
- Current Police Reference Check with Vulnerable Sector Screening
- Aquatics related experience will be an asset
- Aqua Fitness certification (desired)
- Must be vaccinated against covid-19 or provide valid proof of exemption on grounds that are protected under the Human Rights code
