The Assistant Store Manager is an integral leadership role within the Freson Bros. Fresh Market - Fort Saskatchewan store and Freson Bros. company.

Qualifications:
  • Minimum 3 years of progressive grocery department, or retail management experience
  • A history of meeting financial objectives and targets in a grocery environment
  • Ability to lead a team in a fast-paced, dynamic environment
  • Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills
  • Effective critical thinking and conflict resolution skills
  • Strong Google Suite skills and the ability to quickly learn new computer programs
  • A passion for leading and developing others
  • Strong knowledge of retail operations, inventory management and food safety regulations'
  • Ability to work different shifts including early mornings, weekends and holidays according to the needs of the business
  • Ability to stand for long periods and lift up to 50 pounds

Role and Responsibilities:
  • Lead Grocery team in merchandising produce items for weekly, promotional, and seasonal displays
  • Inventory Management through weekly ordering, record & invoice maintenance, and leading quarterly inventory counts
  • Schedule Grocery Team Members to ensure that production and customer needs are met
  • Ensure company standards are met and department programs are followed
  • Assist the Store Manager with recruiting while maintaining a high-performance work team
  • Train, develop and motivate Grocery Team Members
  • Resolve customer and Grocery department concerns and complaints, and provide a positive customer experience
  • Champion the Freson Bros. Brand and culture by modelling our qualities of Drive, Integrity, and Growth
