The Information Services Division are technology leaders, planning and delivering successful solutions with information management and information technology (IM/IT) services to both the Ministry of Social Development and Poverty Reduction and the Ministry of Children and Family. The division also provides IM/IT resource planning, decision-making, project and issues management, security and privacy functions, and desktop support.

The Director, Service Management Operations is a people leader who oversees a team of operational and project staff. The team includes the Social Sector Service Desk, Fulfillment team, Workplace technology, and OCIO Service Manager. These teams provide operational and security support to over 8000 ministry staff, as well as technology project support and budget responsibilities. This director is a strategic thinker who strives to develop high performing teams with a focus on service excellence, user experience and diversity.

Job Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration, Public Administration, or related field. An equivalent combination of education, training and related experience may be considered.
  • Minimum three (3) years of experience in the leadership and supervision of staff including developing and evaluating employee performance, coaching, team building and mentoring.
  • Minimum of three (3) years experience establishing collaborative relationships with other leaders and leading organizational change.
  • Minimum of three (3) years experience leading and coaching multi-disciplinary teams in the development and implementation of a diverse range of projects.
  • Minimum of two (2) years experience with financial management, and the strategic allocation of resources.
  • Minimum of two (2) years experience analyzing and improving operational processes.


Preference may be given to applicants who have experience in one or more of the following:
  • Additional years experience in the leadership and supervision of staff including developing and evaluating employee performance, coaching, team building and mentoring.
  • Experience leading and resolving complex staff and/or client issues.
  • Experience managing teams with more than 20 staff.
  • Experience being responsible for a budget over $1 Million/ year.
  • Experience working in the social sector.
  • Experience supervising in a call centre or ITIL based service desk environment.
