The Program sits within the Land Use Policy, Planning and Ecosystems Division (LUPPE) within the new Ministry of Water, Land and Resource Stewardship (WLRS) and provides provincial coordination, strategic direction, funding, and general oversight with the aim to recover caribou in B.C. In the capacity of a wildlife biologist with the caribou recovery program, this position will be expected to provide professional and technical expertise to support the management of caribou and caribou habitat. Working closely with senior biologists and planners, key activities will include operational planning and implementation of field programs, drafting of monitoring and technical reports, leading or supporting projects with both internal and external collaborators, and data entry and records management. While this position is caribou focused, the wildlife biologist will also be expected to understand interactions with a diversity of wildlife species and habitats, and may be asked to support projects pertaining to other species of management importance.

Bring your passion for wildlife management, field experience, attention to detail, and organization to help manage wildlife in the Northeast! Please see the attached Job Profile for more information.
