The Sport & Social Club is Alberta's largest providers of adult recreational sports leagues, tournaments and events. Thousands of adults participate in a variety of sports each season, while getting a great social experience at the same time.

Nurse Next Door Calgary is one of the top franchises in the Canada/USA network. The company offers private home healthcare services, focusing on providing a great environment for its office staff and caregivers, and the best possible service for its customers.

The Accounting Coordinator will work relatively independently, but will have daily contact and frequent meetings with the CEO of both companies, Rob Gillespie. Experienced bookkeepers who are open to a structured environment and to learning some new processes and systems are welcome to apply; as are those with less experience who require more training, but have a love for math and accounting. Must have experience or be comfortable learning both Sage 50 and QuickBooks.

The SSC and NND culture is based on a performance-oriented environment. We place a strong emphasis on hiring exceptional people and giving them all of the support they need to excel in their roles. New staff are given high support and direction, but are encouraged to gain freedom through commitment and results. Weekly goal setting meetings with their manager help each staff person to have a plan for success. Ongoing skill development sessions increase admin staff and managers’ effectiveness in their roles. We also like to have fun: our staff at both companies work as a team, always supporting each other. The dress code is casual and the office culture is relaxed, but expectations are high for every person and this makes it a fun and challenging place to work.

Start date: December 2022 or January 2023

Sport & Social Club:
- Sage 50 accounting software
- Process bi-weekly payroll
- Organize and pay invoices weekly
- Post debit and credit card receipts
- Calculate and submit payment requests for remittances, income taxes, GST
- Reconcile key Balance Sheet accounts such as Visa, Bank, Pre-paids, etc.
- Complete monthly bank reconciliation
- Help finalize all accounts for year-end tax files performed by independent accounting firm

Nurse Next Door:
- QuickBooks accounting software
- Duties are the same as listed above for Sport & Social Club

General:
- Timely and accurate updates to the CEO or other staff
- Update ‘Daily Checklist’ (Excel file) for both companies (this file outlines key tasks and timing for each, on a weekly basis)
- Perform work on special projects as required

Requirements:

• A Bachelor's Degree or College Diploma in Accounting or Bookkeeping is required
• Previous full-time experience in a bookkeeping role is an asset
• Experience with QuickBooks and Sage 50 is an asset
• Experience managing payroll, reconciliations, payables, and remittances is preferred
• High attention to detail
• Proven Organization Skills
• A strong understanding of math and working with data
• Competent with Excel spreadsheets
• Takes pride in all tasks

Job Type: Full-time

Salary: $70,000.00-$75,000.00 per year
