Position: Build and Configuration Specialist
Reports to: Research and Development Manager
Type: Permanent part time, 25 (min) to 32(max) hours/wk, typically 8:30AM-5PM

Responsibilities:

  • Work under the technical direction of the Windows Architect.
  • Perform builds of all Windows applications for internal and external releases of Windows applications. Create and maintain the build scripts and configurations.
  • Perform sanity and unit testing of releases as directed by the developers. Create a test plan. Identify deficiencies in behavior of the system, document the weaknesses and generate detailed tickets that can be addressed by developers. Document test results.
  • Testing would be manual initially. Identify and implement opportunities for automation to improve efficiency, repeatability, and quality over time.
  • Verify and reproduce Customer Support Windows tool issues and assign to the appropriate developer.
  • Create release notes for internal releases.
  • Create the User Release Description document for external releases.
  • Create internal design documentation to define the interaction between different software modules.
  • Provide task estimates and status updates as required.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Skills and Qualifications:

  • Strong computer and IT related skills. Familiarity with registry, privileges, protected/public/deployment folders, networking.
  • Strong scripting skills to support build configurations and test automation.
  • Meticulous attention to detail to ensure end-user aspects of a software design and behavior are well documented.
  • Passionate about creating excellent products.
  • Proven ability to drive projects and assignments to successful completion.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Able to provide creative and sound solutions to problems.
  • Able to evaluate solutions with a critical eye.
  • Excellent interpersonal, oral and written English communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently or closely with others. A team player.
  • Strong time management skills and able to work in a dynamic environment with multiple simultaneous assignments and priorities.

  • Experience: minimum 5+ of related experience.

Salary: $25.00-$30.00 per hour
