Business Development Intern

Regional Food Distribution Association is looking for a dynamic Business Development Intern to join our team. If you want to be mentored and be part of a dedicated team while making a difference in peoples’ lives, this position is for you!

RFDA secures and distributes emergency food to meet the needs of Northwestern Ontario by developing and coordinating for the delivery of food donated to community organizations and northern communities for those with food shortages.

We require an outgoing person with a desire for building partnerships and relationships.

The candidate will possess:

  • Critical thinking and strategic planning skills
  • Analytical skills to assess data and identify trends
  • Persuasive writing, active listening, speaking and presenting skills
  • Great communication skills
  • Excellent interpersonal skills, including the ability to collaborate with

senior management, team members, partners and other stakeholders

  • Willingness to research and prospect new partners and revenue

generating clients

  • Creativity and out of the box thinking
  • Adaptability to respond to changes and create new leads and ideas
  • Ability to influence and sell to prospects, partners
  • Great organizational and time management skills
  • Good computer skills
  • Understanding of current social media and digital marketing strategies
  • Problem-solving, critical thinking, data analysis, and decision making skills

Key duties:

  • Design and develop a strategic plan for revenue growth
  • Create new ideas and opportunities and implement them into
  • the strategy
  • Create sales and partner packages with new opportunities
  • Analyze and evaluate data
  • Develop and nurture partnerships with First Nations and other

communities

  • Networking with associations and the business community as a whole
  • Research grant opportunities and complete applications
  • Other duties as necessary
  • Some event coordination
  • Other duties as necessary

This is a one year position, 35 hours per week
