Reports to Fleet Manager/Supervisor

Job Description

Primarily responsible are as a relief driver, driver, swamping, yard maintenance, building/equipment maintenance, parts pick-ups, fleet maintenance, record keeping/invoices, warehouse duties and other duties as assigned.

• Equipment operation required
• Class 3 License Required

Duties and responsibilities

Relief Driver

• Provide coverage for a run(s) when regular driver is unavailable.
• Overnight shifts may be required. Compensated as needed.

Swamping

• When/if a regular route requires additional support, yard hand will go along to assist driver with off loading and deliveries.

Yard Maintenance

• General outdoor maintenance, including but not limited to snow removal, exterior upkeep and repairs, additional tasks provided by manager/supervisor.
• Yard equipment maintenance and repairs

Parts pick-ups

• When needed, yard truck is used to complete pick-ups/deliveries.

Fleet Maintenance

• Drop off and pick up trucks in and around the Edmonton Area
• Complete routine inspections and routine repairs/maintenance on fleet

Record Keeping/Invoices

• Keep organized detailed records on work completed, including but not limited to work orders, invoices for parts/services, etc.

Qualifications

Qualifications include:

• Knowledge of the English language
• Ability to read and write
• Physical strength
• Mobility and stamina
• Basic math skills
• Attention to detail
• Good organizational Skills
• Teamwork and communication
• The ability to operate skid steer, power jack, etc.
• Willingness to help other departments when needed
• Air brakes – Class 3 License

Working conditions

Monday to Friday. Overtime required, some overnight shifts may be required. Working in temperatures below 10oC and above 30oC indoors and outdoors. Heavy lifting, pulling and pushing required.
