SUMMARY

Position Title:City Company Driver

Terms of Employment & Number of Vacancies: Permanent Full Time (7 positions)

Hours of Work: 44 Hours/Week

Work Location: 25 Capilano Way, New Westminster, BC, V3L 5G3

Language of Work (English or French): English

Wage: $27.00 (0 ~ 1st year), $28.00 (1st ~ 2nd year), $28.75 (2nd year ~)

KEY ACTIVITIES

Duties and responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

• Operating a tractor-trailer, long combination vehicle weighing over 4500 Kg throughout the lower mainland.
• Inspecting equipment, picking and delivering the freight.
• Loading and unloading customer freight by hand or pallet jack.
• Checking load inventory against invoices to ensure accuracy.
• Following all the traffic rules and laws.
• Following all the company policies and procedures regarding equipment, HOS, and all applicable laws and regulations.
• Interacting with customers while picking up and delivering freight.
• Trained in the transportation of dangerous goods.

SKILLS & KNOWLEDGE

Experience

• A valid Class 1 driver’s license.
• Minimum of 1 year of verifiable tractor trailer experience with positive references.
• Clear commercial driver's abstract, no older than 30 days, with no convictions.
• Clear criminal record search.
• Excellent communication and customer service skills.
• Must be able to lift 50 lbs.
• Must be able to do thorough vehicle inspections.
• A demonstrated history of safe driving and proper operation of a motor vehicle.
