The Community-Based Organization (CBO) Contract Administration Unit of the Ministry of Social Services, Finance and Corporate Services is seeking an analytical and client service oriented individual for the position of Consultant, CBOs in the North Service Area.


This position is responsible for ensuring accountability over public funds and compliance with terms of contracts between the Ministry and community-based organizations (CBOs) providing services to the Ministry clients. This involves building and sustaining collaborative relationships with CBOs to ensure quality of provided services adherence to sound financial management and effective governance practices. The position requires strong analytical, as well as, effective problem solving skills to accurately interpret, evaluate, report and manage financial and operational risks.

Our candidate of choice will have knowledge of generally accepted accounting principles, financial management standards and procedures for not-for-profit organizations, along with experience in contract administration and a demonstrated ability to successfully develop working relationships through effective communication and interpersonal skills.

Typically, the knowledge and skills required for this position would be obtained through the completion of a degree in Business Administration or a diploma/certificate in Business Administration or Accounting. The successful candidate will also have experience in the administrative and/or financial management of a not-for profit or other organization.

Work in this position involves travel to CBO locations. Candidates must be able to operate a government vehicle and possess a valid and current driver’s license.
