Job Description:
The Controller’s responsibilities will include but are not limited to the following:
Manage / perform the month-end financial close procedures including:
- Monthly Financial Statements with variance analysis by location
- Review bank reconciliation
- Oversee the consolidation of Dodds regional entities (with margin analysis)
- Assist in developing / measuring KPIs driving financial results
- Perform financial analysis on new service / product offerings
- Calculate sales commissions
- Maintain Pricebook (costing and selling price of products / services)
- Monthly reporting submitted
- Ensure collections are being made
- Ensure all jobs being invoiced
- Ensure bills are paid on time
- Ensure government remittances paid on time (HST, payroll, EHT etc.)
- Expert on Quickbooks Desktop / Online
- Direct reports include Accounting Managers, Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, Invoicing, Order Entry, Purchasing
- Improve existing processes, automate where possible
- Identify process gaps and address
- Assist in implementation of new systems as required
- Minimum 5+ years as a Controller, Accounting Manager or similar experience
- Self-starter with the ability to coach / motivate team
- Experience in construction and/or distribution industries preferred
- Advanced knowledge in Quickbooks Desktop, Quickbooks Online, Microsoft Office and Excel
- CPA/CA considered an asset
- Accounting Designation (CPA) required
