Summary

As a Controls Field Service Technician you will service, install and upgrade various control systems for the wood processing industry at customer sites.

Qualifications

  • Successful candidates will have a diploma, degree or trade qualification in the electrical field, or the equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Experience with programming Allen-Bradley ControlLogix, RSLogix PLC products
  • Experience with Variable Frequency Drives (VFD) (preferred but not required)
  • Basic understanding of Hydraulic and Pneumatic systems
  • Experience with Servo motors
  • Experience with Delta RMC and/or Allen-Bradley motion control
  • Ability to read electrical drawings/prints
  • Electrical troubleshooting skills
  • Knowledge of the wood processing industry (preferred but not required)
  • Ability to work effectively with customers
  • Able to cross international borders and travel extensively to mill locations in North America and overseas

Responsibilities

  • Responsible for ensuring the accurate and timely completion of service calls and regular site visits to ensure equipment meets quality and safety standards.
  • Respond to and communicate effectively with customers, engineers and project managers to ensure customer requirements are understood and resolved.
  • Required to provide 7/24hr remote customer support coverage on rotation. Works irregular hours and overtime as required.
