POSTING #2022-27 CUSTOMER SERVICE CLERK

The Town of Hanover is recruiting qualified, service-oriented individuals to join the Parks, Recreation & Culture team in the position of Customer Service Clerk.

There is potential for both permanent part-time employment as well as temporary part-time employment. The temporary role is anticipated to run until January, 2024.

Reporting to the Administrative Supervisor, responsibilities will include but not be limited to:

  • Providing customer service to program participants, tourists, volunteers and customers either directly or via, phone or email.
  • Processing program registrations, aquatic memberships, passes and facility bookings.
  • Performing general office duties such as distribution of mail, filing, ordering office supplies, and office equipment troubleshooting.
  • Liaising with facility staff for facility bookings, and programs and aquatic staff for swim admittances, private swim lessons, program waitlists and child information.
  • Providing administrative support to department personnel and service areas (typing correspondence, reports, posters, newsletters, and promotional materials in accordance with the Town’s branding policy).
  • Coding accounts payables, receiving payments, providing receipts and preparing and posting daily bank deposits.
  • Recording and depositing vending and locker revenues and balancing the cash drawer.

Knowledge, Skills & Experience

  • Ontario Secondary School Diploma or equivalent
  • Related post-secondary diploma such as office administration would be an asset.
  • Minimum two years experience in an office environment providing customer service and administrative support an asset
  • Thorough knowledge of Microsoft Office programs
  • Excellent customer service, multitasking, organizational, written and verbal communication skills
  • Criminal Record with Vulnerable Sector Check satisfactory to the Town of Hanover
  • General knowledge of ActiveNet, Keystone financial software and graphic design software would be an asset
  • Ability to work days, evenings and weekends

Remuneration as per the current Town of Hanover Salary Grid, Grade 4.
