What you can expect in a typical day
The Data Integration Analyst works collaboratively with business stakeholders, vendors, and other members of IT to define, build, test and support the implementation of IT solutions related to our data integration and data analytics platforms. This role is responsible for identifying business requirements, understanding issues, propose recommended solutions and participate in projects to implement them. This role requires excellent communication with stakeholders and our vendors to ensure alignment, resolve issues, optimize existing solutions, and/or scoping future enhancements. This role also works with and mentors junior Data Integration Analysts as they develop their skills and experience. Please note that this position will require shift flexibility and rotational on-call work.

Your roles and responsibilities:
  • Leverage existing and potential relationships to facilitate solutions.
  • Provide constructive and well thought out feedback within team, both horizontally and vertically within an organization.
  • Problem solve and troubleshoot moderate to complex data and/or software issues in a timely manner.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders at any level to identify incident requirements, understand issues, review possible solutions and present recommendations.
  • Support the development of project plans, gathering requirements and creating broad scopes. Participate in projects to implement new solutions or enhancements.
  • Evaluate the approach to deal with issues, either undertaking to resolve or by escalating issues with other IT team members and vendors.
  • Support less experienced Data Integration Analysts by providing guidance and mentoring them.
  • Adhere to all service management best practices on an individual level.
  • Create and provide ongoing maintenance of support documentation as required.
  • Monitor, analyze, and troubleshoot most complex data solutions for potential issues and keep them running reliably.
  • Support application patches, upgrades, and installation when required.
  • Communicate the value of a process centric approach to solving problems and taking advantage of opportunities.
  • Work closely with business subject matter experts to understand challenges faced that could have a portion of the solution based on technology.

Travel
  • Travel is not a requirement for this role.
Education and experience
  • Undergraduate Degree or College diploma in related field
  • Minimum of 3 Years in enterprise-level application development and integration
  • Technically fluent in programming languages, including Java, SQL, DOS/Shell Scripting
  • Hands-on experience with integration tools such as Talend, Informatica, WBIMB, Mulesoft, TIBCO, WSO2
  • Knowledge of Service-Oriented Architecture, Enterprise Service Bus, and Enterprise Integration Patterns
  • Knowledge of relational database design and management techniques
  • Competency with XML and JSON constructs
  • Confidence and experience with API protocols and schemas such as SOAP and REST
  • Experience with securing integration scenarios using appropriate authentication, authorization, non-repudiation, and data encryption methods
  • Strong knowledge of system and software quality assurance best practices and methodologies
  • Knowledge of network protocols and standards
  • Knowledge of Master Data Management an asset
  • Experience with designing, building, installing, configuring, and supporting data warehouses an asset
