Job Description:

The Director will lead the Data & Analytics Centre, which is one of the core organizations of the Market Engagement Excellence (MEE) division. This role reports to the Head Market Engagement Excellence and plays a meaningful leadership role in cross enterprise leadership teams.

Janssen Canada is in the midst of a significant transformation that seeks to embed data driven decision making in our business processes across the enterprise. This transformation requires the development of new data infrastructure and platforms, capabilities in advanced analytics and a novel and inclusive approach to decision making. This role will accelerate this transformation and will shape the future direction of Janssen Canada's data strategy.

Major Responsibilities:

Team Leadership

The Director Data and Analytics will develop and implement a data and analytics strategy that enables connected technology solutions and platforms. This strategy will generate insights and visualization that have a measurable impact on the customer experience. Built in collaboration with local and global teams this strategy will align with prioritized business need and be consistent with sound data governance principles.

The Director Data and Analytics will create a talent strategy for the Data and Analytics Centre that meets both the current and future needs of the organization in the areas of data & platforms, advanced analytics, customer research and forecasting.

The Director Data and Analytics will participate in key leadership forums and work collaboratively to shape sales and marketing, medical affairs and channel strategies. Understanding these strategies allows the candidate to generate data that supports go to market plans, build relevant business tracking metrics, shape incentive planning and support the insight generation processes. This will require a leader who seeks out and listens to diverse perspectives and uses these perspectives to generate meaningful solutions.

The successful candidate will work proactively with the team to manage performance, budget, workflow and priorities to in a way that efficiently meets the needs of the business.

Qualifications

  • Business/IT/Life Sciences Degree required
  • Graduate degree with an analytic specialization is an asset
  • 10+ years management-level healthcare industry/consulting/project management/IT/analytics/data science experience required
  • 10+ years of progressive experience in a combination of both business & technical roles required
  • 3+ years of leading a data strategy, analytics, or similar teams required
  • Consistent track record of delivering data systems/technology solutions in a business environment where compliance, resource constraints and organizational change were essential determinants of business impact
  • Learning agility: Ability to anticipate future consequences and trends accurately and incorporate this into a vision, strategy and plan that differentiates Janssen versus competition.
  • Excellent communicator (verbal & written) with the ability to grasp and present complex business challenges clearly and concisely at the right level of complexity based upon the audience. Bilingualism an asset.
  • Experience building and leading medium/large teams with diverse abilities. Ability to mentor, inspire and influence a team to deliver for each other and for the business. You have experience guiding your team and organization through significant change and developed a strategic approach to leading change.
  • Knowledge of syndicated data and systems supporting the pharmaceutical industry.
  • Experience with Project Management/Process Excellence is an asset
  • Knowledge of broader pharmaceutical industry functions (Access, Medical Affairs, Regulatory) is an asset.
  • Highly developed computer skills with an understanding
