Our Food and Agribusiness team is expanding and in need of a Project Director/Senior Project Manager to join our group in Waterloo, Ontario office.
Working with an energetic and high performing team, this position offers a variety of work and will see you involved in:- Driving business growth within a leading global provider of Food and Agribusiness engineering solutions.
- Nurturing existing client relationships, developing a network of contacts and new clients with growth aspirations in western Canada and beyond.
- Managing a portfolio of projects, while working alongside clients to identify key project metrics, CAPEX estimates, schedule and ESG requirements.
- Building positive partnerships while working in highly collaborative globally integrated teams of Project Managers, Engineers, Scientists, OEMs and vendors to identify, design and achieve innovative solutions.
- Leading project teams from pre-pursuit and project scope development through successful project delivery, including monitoring project finances and deliverables.
- Leveraging GHDs expertise to support client business case scenarios, project visioning, technical due diligence, digital solutions, and data.
- Supporting the Business Group Lead in providing leadership and mentorship opportunities to junior team members.
- Environmental, Social and Governance (ESG) implementation to assist clients with sustainability and societal impact.
- 10+ years of Food & Agribusiness experience in operations or engineering.
- Must have sufficient technical knowledge of multi-discipline engineering design and construction to represent GHD effectively with clients.
- Post-secondary education in Mechanical, Management, Process, Chemical Engineering, agriculture or equivalent education.
- Master of Business Administration (MBA) or Project Management Professional (PMP) designation an asset.
- Experience in multiple contracting methods: Cost plus, lump sum, GMP, alternate fee.
- Experience managing multidisciplinary alternate project delivery (APD) and/or progressive design build (PDB) projects considered an asset.
- Strong communication (oral and written), interpersonal, and leadership skills.
- Build and maintain exceptional client relationships.
- Strong analytical skills with sound technical judgment.
- Proven high ethical standards with a dedication to producing high quality work.
- Self-motivated, flexible leader willing to take ownership of team development and project performance.
- Work will consist of office and occasional on-site work with the ability to travel for client meetings as needed.
