Leggat Auto Group is seeking a strategic Director of IT to join our Executive Team. This on-site in-office role will actively contribute to our future success as we grow and evolve. With 13 locations and over 600 employees, you will head up an IT team of two to three members with a focus on the performance and reliability of our current systems as well as finding new efficiencies, solutions, and benefits to enhance the internal and external customer experience.

You will help form and execute the business strategy for IT and support the business initiatives and direction assessing the scope of activities, structure and processes. The focus will include prioritizing, building business plans, strategy and project plans with key deliverables to support measurable positive change and ongoing growth.

The successful incumbent will have the relevant experience to recommend innovative technologies and effective solutions to address evolving infrastructure challenges, changing demands, and the ever-increasing threats of cyber security.

The Director will manage day-to-day systems, security, and infrastructure including managing a team of IT professionals. This is a hands-on role and is responsible for the overall health and maintenance of all IT infrastructure security operations with an additional focus on cyber security administration. This position will play a critical role in changing business needs, evolving customer expectations, operational process improvements, and cyber security risks.

Responsibilities

  • Collaboration with ownership, executive team members and key decision-makers (General Managers) to develop the company’s technical vision and roadmap
  • Develop, lead, and implement the IT Roadmap outlining the investments in infrastructure that will enable the Company’s strategic plans and deliver high-availability IT resources
  • Recommends and implements appropriate security controls to protect the company’s information assets from unauthorized access and compromise/loss and to mitigate cyber-related risks including internal users and offboarded employees or associates
  • Effectively monitor critical infrastructure systems through tools and systems to ensure data integrity with contingency and catastrophic recovery plans
  • Full project lifecycle management including the implementation, deployment and operation of business information and technology solutions with an inclusive change management approach
  • Develop IT policies, procedures and documentation to current best practices and ongoing maintenance
  • Develop and manage the IT business plan, projects and maintenance budget
  • Full IT operations support and leadership including third-party vendor relationships
  • Lead, mentor and develop an outstanding IT team including identification of staffing and skillset needs and performance management
  • Facilitate remote monitoring and management infrastructure implementation
  • In-person dealership presence and knowledge of hardware and software systems throughout
  • Benchmarks, analyzes, develops reports, and makes recommendations for the improvement and growth of the IT infrastructure and IT systems and produces regular performance metrics and dashboards
  • Develop metrics and manage internal help desk performance to address bottlenecks to achieve exceptional uptime productivity and performance levels.
  • Oversee virus removal and email spam management with the best tools and solutions
  • Manages the deployment, monitoring, maintenance, development, upgrade, and support of all Infrastructure systems, including servers, operating systems, hardware, software, storage area networks and backup systems and manages replacement schedules
  • Leads the design, procurement, installation, and maintenance of all IT infrastructure including servers, PC/laptops, network components and related configurations, telecommunications equipment, telephony, mobility, email, operations-related software, backup/recovery systems and license compliance with a focus on cyber security.

Successful Candidates Possess:

  • A minimum of five years in a leadership role and ten years of a progressive track record in this discipline
  • Relevant degree, post-secondary and/or certifications and designations in related fields
  • Certification preferred: CISSP, CISM, CCNP Security
  • Experience with Disaster Recovery, Business Continuity Planning, Incident Response Management
  • In-depth knowledge of Microsoft Office 365 diagnosis, and troubleshooting
  • Skilled in effective management solutions for all potential stakeholders
  • Demonstrated project management skills
  • Ability to accommodate the physical demands that may present in hardware and server spaces, lifting, pushing, pulling and stair climbing when required
  • A valid driver’s license and reliable vehicle for localized travel primarily in GTA West.
