The Status of Women Office within the Ministry of Parks, Culture and Sport, is responsible for ensuring the matters pertaining to women are identified and addressed with evidence-based policies, programs and innovations that support women to live and thrive in Saskatchewan.

The Opportunity:

The Status of Women Office is seeking a highly motivated and results orientated leader for the role of Director, Status of Women. Reporting to the Executive Director, the Director will be responsible for leading and supporting variety of initiatives, providing strategic advice and guidance for the Government of Saskatchewan to ensure policies and programs advance the status of women.

This position will also be responsible for developing and maintaining cross-government and external stakeholder relationships, including facilitating partnerships between government and third parties to advance issues that support women to live safe and prosperous lives.

Responsibilities of the Director include:

  • Providing oversight and leadership for the Status of Women Office’s interpersonal violence and abuse and economic prosperity files.
  • Developing and maintaining strong relationships across all levels of government; providing support and leadership with federal/provincial/territorial (FPT) work and intergovernmental committees and working groups.
  • Providing oversight, leadership and support on cross-ministry initiatives including Missing and Murdered Indigenous Women and Girls National Inquiry; the Interministerial Committee of Advisors on Women’s Policy; the Interministerial Committee on Interpersonal Violence and Abuse; and the Provincial Partnership Committee on Missing Persons.
  • Conduct and provide oversight of research and analysis to support development of evidence-based policies and programs, using a citizen-centered and outcome-based approach; performing legislative and regulatory reviews; providing recommendations and options for government decision making, in alignment with government processes and protocols.
  • Conduct external stakeholder engagement and facilitated discussions with a variety of interest groups and organizations.
  • Support development of strategic and operational business plans achieve the Ministry and the Government of Saskatchewan priorities and objectives.
