2171449 Alberta Ltd is recruiting on behalf of our client, Holiday Inn Edmonton South – Evario Events – The First H4 property with Conferencing and Banqueting facilities in Canada with 126 state of the art rooms, Lobby restaurant & bar, a 20,000 sq ft banqueting and conferencing facilities. We are looking for YOU to join our team.

What’s the job?

Responsible to provide fast and effective cleaning of all kitchen utensils, dishware, glassware and pots, and to maintain the kitchen area ensuring cleanliness and tidiness. With the ability to do some food preparation, the dishwasher must be capable of working effectively both unsupervised and within a team environment.

Key duties include:

• Operate and maintain cleaning equipment and tools, including the dish washing machine, hand wash stations, pot scrubbing station, and trash contractor.
• Wash and disinfect kitchen and store room areas, tables, tools, knives, and equipment.
• Receive deliveries, store perishables properly, and rotate stock.
• Ensure clean wares are stored in appropriate areas. Inspect, pull, and stack cleaned items, send soiled items back for re-scrubbing and re- washing.
• Rack and spray all racked items with hot water to loosen and remove food residue.
• Empty and maintain trash cans and dumpster area. Clean and mop all areas in assigned department.
• Dispose of glass in the proper containers. Break down cardboard boxes and place them and other recyclables in the recycle bin.
• Follow all company and safety and security policies and procedures, report maintenance needs, accidents, injuries, and unsafe work conditions to manager. Complete safety training and certifications. Protect company assets.
• Other duties as required/assigned

What we need from you

• Experience – 1 year preferred
• Strength –moving / lifting of items and or push/ pulling heavy objects are all part of job.
• Ability to follow instructions and detail oriented.
• Ability to work independently.
• Fitness – you’ll be on your feet most of the day, and will need to bend and kneel a lot
• Flexibility – day, night, weekend and holiday shifts are all part of the job.

Visa Requirements: Must be legally eligible to work in Canada. The hotel is unable to assist candidates in obtaining Canadian work authorization.
