YOUNG DRIVERS - Trainee Driving Instructor

We're actively looking for instructors! HALIFAX

Driving Instructor - NO EXPERIENCE NECESSARY / TRAINING PROVIDED

Young Drivers of Canada is looking to hire Driving Instructors. If you are the type of person that loves to help others by teaching new skills and loves to watch others succeed, this job is for you.

You'll go through Ontario's # 1 instructor training program. The four-week training program will teach you the necessary skills to become a certified Driving Instructor.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Must be a resident of Nova Scotia and hold a current Driver's Licence.
  • You must have five years of driving experience with a clean driving record.
  • No criminal record.
  • Instructor's license- This is acquired through the Young Drivers Instructor Training Course.
  • Teaching or previous coaching experience is an asset.

REQUIREMENTS

  • Must have own vehicle, preferably it is six years or younger. If older, it must be approved by YD management.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently
  • Ability to follow the Young Drivers curriculum.
  • Friendly, cheerful and outgoing.
  • Must be comfortable with students.
  • Soft skills required to succeed in this position include empathy, understanding, compassion, patience, etc.

SCHEDULE EXPECTATIONS

  • An instructor's licence is acquired through the Young Drivers Instructor Training Course.
  • Training Course is four weeks in duration, from 8:30 am - 4:30 pm.
  • Typically, YD Instructors work five days per week.
  • Four days during the week (9 am – 6 pm or 12 - 9 pm).
  • 2 – 3 days would have to be the afternoon shift, one day on the weekend.
  • Since many of our clients are High School students, our Driving Instructors must be available to work afternoons & evenings until 9:00 pm on weekdays and one weekend day (your choice).

YOUNG DRIVERS® INSTRUCTORS COMPENSATION & BENEFITS

$27.50 per 45-minute lesson.

Instructors are paid based on the lessons delivered. In addition, there is the possibility of greater earnings if the Instructor is willing to pick up extra lessons when needed.

Salary: $50,000.00-$55,000.00 per year
