Total compensation at Hopscotch

Early learning excellence

Hopscotch incorporates practical and simple practices from FLIGHT, Alberta's Early Learning and Care Framework and welcomes and supports those with practicums. For those unfamiliar with FLIGHT, we will train and help merge these practices with excellent things you are already doing.

We are looking for someone who:

  • Has a passion for early learning and child care
  • Enjoys having fun and learning with children
  • Demonstrates professional ethics at all times
  • Works well with others in a team
  • Enjoys working at a quick pace and with a great team
  • Has a valid qualification (ECE Level 1, 2, or 3 in Alberta), or willing to obtain it (for the right person)
  • Has experience in a child care setting
  • Willing and eager to learn and grow through professional development
  • Provides outstanding care for the children under your supervision, ensuring their needs are met
  • Is able to build relationships with families (i.e. parents of the children)
  • Reliable, organized, and takes initiative
  • Has flexibility in their availability and ages able to work with

Qualifications/Skill/Requirements:

  • ECE certification in Alberta (Level 1, 2, or 3) - or willing to obtain
  • Criminal Record Check including a vulnerable sector search (less than 6 months since date of check)
  • Ability to lift at least 40 pounds, as required
  • Up-to-date immunizations/vaccinations including COVID-19 (subject to human rights considerations)

Salary: $18.14-$26.62 per hour
