Job Summary


Reporting to the Electrical Supervisor, this position is responsible for providing electrical maintenance to the company plant equipment. This includes diagnosis of causes of breakdowns, removal, replacement, and installation of various components. Working knowledge of PLCs, instrumentation, motors & motor controls, relays, and transformers is required. This position provides services for the production operators who use this equipment to perform their work. This position requires good communication skills, understanding and commitment to the team effort, flexibility, and willingness to do what it takes to get the job done.


Located in the Oakville/Mississauga area, this unionized position provides a competitive salary and benefits package. Shift work will be required for this position.

Qualifications


To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.


Education/Experience


  • Post-Secondary education is an asset
  • Valid Electrical Certificate of Qualification (309A or 442A)
  • Proof of Apprenticeship


Work Requirements


  • Experience working with outside vendors and outsourced contractors


Knowledge/Skill Requirements


  • Working knowledge of PLCs, instrumentation, motors & motor controls, relays, and transformers is required
  • Basic understanding of manufacturing operations
  • Working knowledge of related maintenance and repair practices
  • Valid Drivers Licence

  • Industrial/manufacturing working environment, subject to hazards such as electrical shock/arc flash, noise, dust, heat, etc.
