Boeing Canada Winnipeg is seeking Entry Level Design Engineer, reporting to the Design Engineering Manager, working out of the Winnipeg, MB office. The Entry Level Design Engineer will to join the Boeing Winnipeg Design and Stress Engineering team which is responsible for lifecycle design activities for the 787 Wing to Body Fairing. The new team member will also assist in other site and enterprise aircraft design activities.

Position Responsibilities:

  • Assists with documentation of structural and interior payload system requirements to establish the system design.

  • Assists with development, maintenance and modification of payload system and component designs, using 3-D Computer Aided Design tools and/or other design methods, to provide product definition to other engineering groups, production operations, suppliers and external customers throughout the product lifecycle.

  • Assists with tests to validate and verify systems and components meet requirements and specifications.

  • Assists with management of supplier development, test and production activities to optimize the design and achieve program goals.

  • Flexible, with a high tolerance for organizational complexity and ability to work with partners from within Boeing and outside, across different cultures and time-zones.

  • Works under close supervision.

This position is expected to be 100% onsite. The selected candidate will be required to work onsite at one of the listed location options.

Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):

  • Must be legally able to work in Canada

  • Must have a Bachelor of Science Degree or higher in a relevant field of Engineering (Mechanical/Aerospace) upon hire

  • Be eligible to be registered as an Engineer in Training (E.I.T) with Engineers Geoscientists Manitoba (EGM)

  • Experience working with cross-functional teams

  • Ability to prepare comprehensive reports, proposals, etc.

  • Proficiency and experience working with Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)

Preferred Qualifications (Education/Experience):

  • Experience with engineering and design software (i.e. CAD/3D packages (UG/NX, CATIA, SolidWorks, CREO, etc.)

  • Candidate must be a self-starter with a positive attitude, high ethics, and a track record of working successfully under pressure in a time-constrained environment

  • Candidate must demonstrate excellent analytical and problem-solving skills

  • Basic understanding of engineering fundamentals such as material properties, Free-body diagrams, structural loads and, analysis methods

  • Experience with design and analysis of metallic and composite materials

Typical Education and Experience:

Education/experience typically acquired through advanced technical education from an accredited course of study in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry (e.g. Bachelor) or an equivalent combination of technical education and experience.

Relocation:

Relocation assistance is not a negotiable benefit for this position. Candidates must live in the immediate area or relocate at their own expense.

This requisition is for a locally hired position in Canada. The employer is Boeing Canada. Candidates must be legally authorized to work in Canada. Benefits and pay are determined by Canada and are not on Boeing US-based payroll. This is not an expatriate assignment.
