Equipment Operator Job at Civil North Consulting Ltd.
Civil North Consulting is seeking an experienced equipment operator. Projects are mainly forestry and civil construction. Majority of the work is based our Vanderhoof and Fraser Lake locations, giving a strong work/life balance.
Responsibilities:
- Operate heavy equipment safely and efficiently
- Performs daily safety and maintenance checks
- Working in tight areas and in close proximity of workers, underground utilities, overhead powerline and the general public
- Ensure that equipment is safely and securely stored
- Practice workplace safety
Qualifications:
- 3 – 5 years experience on various equipment including but not limited to Excavators, Loaders, dozers
- Must have a valid class 5 drivers license
- Class 1 and/or 3 is an asset
- Must be comfortable on Forest Service Roads and sometimes working alone
- Experience in a construction environment or a in a similar role
- Familiar with construction terms and practices
- Ability to communicate and interact both verbally and written
- A keen eye to details and good decision making
- Ability to complete work projects on time and in an effective manner
- Ability to take and follow instruction from supervisor, adjust to changing conditions and communicate any and all needs to supervisor as well as working as part of a team
