Position Title: Events and Administrative Assistant

Location: Saskatoon, SK

Duration: Part Time, Permanent

Company Background:

The Saskatchewan Co-operative Association (SCA) is the apex organization for the province’s 800+ co-operatives and credit unions. We are incorporated as a community service co-operative that is working to support and promote the co-operative model for community and economic development. We provide co-operative education and awareness to the public, networking events around Saskatchewan for our members, and run Camp Kindling, a co-operative youth retreat program.

Position Summary:

Reporting to the Executive Director, the Events and Administrative Assistant who will ensure the efficient day-to-day operation of SCA and provide administrative support for Camp Kindling and SCA events. We are seeking someone who lives for the satisfaction of perfectly tracking details and information and helping organize events that make a difference. This position demands a superior level of attention to details, the ability to process and track large volumes of information and a co-operative, can-do attitude. The ideal candidate is motivated and a self starter who has superior customer service and organization skills.

Responsibilities:

  • Communication / Correspondence Design & Writing
  • Website & Social Media Content & Updates

Tasks:

  • Schedule, record, and prepare minutes of meetings.
  • Arrange and co-ordinate seminars, conferences, and network events.
  • Provide administrative and stakeholder support for Camp Kindling youth program.
  • Manage financial elements of events and programing activities, including invoicing, payments, refunds, reconciliation, and reporting.
  • Type and proofread correspondence, forms, and other documents.
  • Support social media and website content creation, updates, and information management.
  • Compile data, statistics, and other information to prepare reports.
  • Arrange travel, related itineraries and make reservations.
  • Answer telephone and electronic enquiries

  • Experience working in an office environment.
  • Proficient in a variety of computer and social media software applications.

Qualifications:

  • Minimum of one year experience providing administrative support.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Powerpoint, Access, and Outlook).
  • Diploma in Administration or Business Administration is an asset.
  • A combination of education and experience would be considered.

Additional Information:

  • Some travel may be required to attend meetings and events or support other SCA activities (outside of Saskatoon).
