ON-SITE WORK
  • On-site work in Guelph, ON
  • May become hybrid after 3-6 initial months

SCHEDULE
  • Flexible to accommodate / Should work around other team-members working on-site/hybrid

TRAVELLING REQUIREMENT
  • Must have a G2 license + Own vehicle + Must have clean driving record
  • Once a month travel to other location in Port Hope, ON/Belleville ON
  • Prefer someone with valid US travel status
  • May occasionally need to travel to US locations for meetings

PURPOSE OF POSITION
  • Responsible for directing and supervising the plant’s accounting functions.
  • These functions include maintaining and recommending improvements to the plant’s accounting procedures and system of internal controls.
  • Demonstrates expertise in a variety of the field's concepts, practices, and procedures.
  • Relies on extensive experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals.

LOOKING FOR A LEADER
  • This role is ideal for someone with strong leadership & people’s skills.
  • Someone who is comfortable reporting into corporate controller.
  • Someone who is either a strong finance supervisor/manager who is still comfortable in that role
  • OR
  • Someone who is a strong leader while being a financial analyst with key supervisory/management experience


QUALIFICATIONS & REQUIREMENTS
University degree required – Degree can be easily verified.
• Must have a professional designation in a recognized accounting program CPA, CGA, CFA, CA, etc.
7 to 10 years of finance and or accounting experience, 3 in manufacturing environment (preferably Automotive), familiar with Lean manufacturing principles.
• Superior knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles.
• Prefers having someone with Unionized environment experience
• Prefers someone with a strong experience with ADP or PeopleSoft

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES & ACTIVITIES
• Oversees the daily operations in the accounting department including supervision of Financial and Cost Analysts, Accounts Receivable, Accounts Payable and Payroll personnel.
• Maintains the system of accounts and ensures accuracy and integrity of the books and records, including accurate and timely account analysis and reconciliation in accordance with the client’s Blackline Account Reconciliation system.
• Oversees completion of month end close activities and ensure submission of all Corporate and internal client’s reporting requirements on a monthly and quarterly basis are completed accurately and on time.
• Coordinates and directs the preparation of the annual financial budget and forecast updates as required.
• Ensures payroll processing is compliant with all federal and provincial requirements.
• Conducts reviews of financial performance on a daily, weekly or monthly basis as required. Report on actual performance versus budget and provide plant operations management with analysis to support decision making .
• Provides support for capital expenditure projects including analysis required to support the approval of the project.
• Responsible for managing the maintenance of the fixed asset sub-ledger including reconciliation of the sub-ledger to the General Ledger, ensuring timely updates for additions and disposals, tagging of assets on the shop floor.
• Manage the maintenance of the standard costing system, including maintenance of bills of materials, variance reporting and inventory control. Support activity surrounding quoting of new business initiatives, including costing and profitability models.
• Lead Cost Deployment Pillar activities which include regular review of plant projects, validating the financial impact and forecasting and reporting savings.
• Manage Blue Room updates and reporting in conjunction with FI and PD pillars. Ensure that financial and CD information presented in the Blue Room is accurate and timely. Accurate and timely completion of all corporate reporting associated with Cost Deployment requirements.
• Review, consult, and approve capital funding projects, ensuring adherence to corporate policy.
• Oversee the plant’s business plan and model, ensuring coherence with corporate’s vision.
