Overview:
The Financial Planning Analyst provides management reporting, financial analysis, and decision support. This position works to improve understanding of key business drivers and maximize results within the country/markets. The Financial Planning Analyst works closely with, and in support of, the FP&A Manager.
Responsibilities:
  • Provide analysis to support business decisions
  • Participate in the production of monthly reporting package
  • Prepare detailed month end analysis for cash flow, corporate cost, etc.
  • Prepare and maintain forecasting file to collect and report weekly/monthly/annual performance
  • Perform standard and ad hoc financial analyses for country/markets/segments
  • Monitor and ensure Month End reporting schedules and commitments are adhered to
  • Adapt to ever evolving reporting requirements and accordingly update/develop reports
  • Apply understanding of accounting principles, including controls and standards, in various scenarios
  • Coordinate internal and external audit requirement for country
  • Liaise with Shared Services Centre to ensure collaborative achievement of Finance objectives
  • Demonstrate a commitment to communicating, improving and adhering to safety policies in all work environments
  • Participate in review and enhancement to internal controls, accounting policies, and business processes
  • Assist with planning and execution of various forecasting campaigns
  • Own the regional/segment balance sheet and ensure account balance are reconciled

  • Consistency of accounting/statutory reporting and product line reporting
  • Effective linkage of Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) and other financial performance analyses with financial reporting
  • Timely monthly management reporting
  • Effective flagging of business issues based on financial and trend analysis
  • Continuous improvement of operating and reporting efficiencies
Relationships with Others’ Jobs:
  • Frequent interaction with Finance Directors and Finance Managers
  • Interface with Finance Directors in monthly review/reporting process
  • Interaction with Shared Services Center
  • Peer relationships within and across regions with other Analysts
Qualifications:
Education and Work Experience:
  • Bachelor's degree in business with a major in accounting and finance; preferred CPA or equivalent recognized accounting and finance designation.
  • Minimum 2-5 years of accounting and financial management experience with increasing responsibility
  • Audit firm experience will be an asset
Knowledge and Skills:
  • IFRS Technical skills and experience
  • Advanced Google sheets/MS Excel for reporting and data analysis
  • SAP FC/SAP ECC/BPC experience an asset
  • Strong ability to work independently
  • Ability to multi-task
  • Willing to take new tasks
  • Demonstrated ability in financial/business analysis
  • Ability to quickly gather systems knowledge and experience
