We’re putting a new face on the look of Retirement living in Aurora. Designed and built by Traditions Seniors Housing and operated by Gray Wave Advisory. Residences on Yonge will offer an unmatched service level for Independent Supportive Living, Assisted Living, and Memory Care for 105 Residents, large enough to be efficient and small enough to provide a caring difference.

WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR: A Food Service Manager that develops, creates and is responsible for all aspects of the food services of The Residences on Yonge. We want to deliver a diverse, healthy array of meals that nourish the mind and soul of the residents.

· Executes the menu and meal delivery development for The Residences on Yonge

· Responsible for cooking multiple times per week as we continue to grow our resident population.

· Responsible for the timely preparation, presentation, and delivery of food to residents.

· Responsible for ordering of food necessary to prepare planned menus while working within budget restrictions.

· Passion for cooking and creating a dining experience that people enjoy and want to retreat to.

· Responsible for ensuring the kitchen and dining room are clean and sanitary. Meeting all the Health and Safety requirements.

· Responsible for the preparation of job routines, policies, hiring the team, schedules.

· Reviews and approves timesheets on a weekly basis.

· Coordinates and cooperates with other employees with respect to special functions or events.

· Participates in whole house initiatives and establishing and the culture, using approaches like the Gentle Persuasive Approach (GPA), Montessori, Eden Alternative.

Qualifications:

  • A post-secondary certificate in food service in Food and Nutrition, Preparation/Management or equivalent.
  • Must have experience in quantity food preparation and the preparation of therapeutic diets. (minced & pureed)
  • Is familiar with the provisions of the Occupational Health and Safety Act and the regulations that apply to the work, and
  • Has knowledge of any potential or actual danger to health or safety in the workplace.
  • Current and valid certified food handler certificate.

· Must be able to adapt, manage and lead through the ever-changing demands of the Retirement field, not limited to Covid.

· Experience with Point Click Care is an asset.

· Is part of a manager on duty rotation.

· Minimum of 2-year Leadership experience

Salary: $30.00-$32.00 per hour
