Our ideal candidate will have 2-5 years experience working as a bookkeeper. Bonus points if you have experience with payroll.

This position will be approximately 75% remote. Candidate will need to have a home office. Must be located within the lower mainland and have reliable transportation.

About you:

You are a goal oriented, self-starter who works well both on your own and in a team environment. You’re a bit weird but in a totally awesome way. You like the idea of walking the line between being professional and treating people like your BFF. You love small businesses and working with people to see them grow and succeed.

Key responsibilities:

  • Record client expenses, sales
  • Prepare and remit GST, PST and WCB
  • Prepare and maintain payroll and related government filings
  • Prepare ROEs, T4s and T4As
  • Post journal entries
  • Reconcile accounts
  • Preparation and review of year end for accountants
  • Identify issues and errors, investigate discrepancies and discuss with manager
  • Monitor work in progress, meet deadlines, identify opportunities for out of scope work
  • Work collaboratively and develop and maintain relationships with clients and team members

Skills and Experience

  • Certificate in bookkeeping or diploma in business administration or accounting is considered an asset
  • 2+ years of bookkeeping experience
  • Experience working with multiple clients in various industries
  • Must be proficient in Quickbooks Online
  • Must have strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Must be proficient with Google Suite and Zoom
  • Excellent attention to detail, high level of accuracy, very organized, able to multitask
  • Project management – ability to manage multiple tasks and meet project deadlines
  • Account management and working with a CRM system
  • Excellent customer service skills
