Northern Gateway Public Schools invites applications for a Full-time (1.0 FTE) Education Assistant at Onoway Jr/Sr High School, Onoway, Alberta.

Successful candidate responsibilities:

• Provide support to students in an inclusive setting
• Follow the direction of the classroom Teacher

Preference will be given to candidates who:

• Establish and maintain effective working relationships with children, parents and staff
• Work collaboratively and co-operatively with teachers and other educational assistants in the classroom/school
• Have experience with toileting, tube feeding, and augmented communication devices is considered an asset
• Understand and carry out oral and written direction
• Work independently with minimal instruction
• Demonstrate effective organizational and communication skills
• Respect confidentiality
• Practice professionalism with all OJSH School students, staff, administration, parents and public
• Are aware of NGPS policies and administrative procedures
• Have experience/willingness to work with Junior and Senior high school students, in Grades 8-12
• Have an understanding of the teaching/learning process
• Have strong interpersonal skills and patience
• Enjoys working in a team environment
• have an Educational Assistant Diploma

Hours:

• 6.5 hours a day, 5 days a week
