We are currently seeking a General Labourer to join our Production Team at our Amherst Plant site in Amherst, Nova Scotia.

The Amherst Plant is located in a fully established community of 10,000, situated on the Nova Scotia/New Brunswick border on the northeast end of the Cumberland Basin, an arm of the Bay of Fundy. Amherst is two hours from Halifax and less than an hour’s drive from Moncton, NB. The plant employs 50 and has an annual capacity of 127,000 tons of food grade and water-softening salt, serving customers throughout the Maritimes, Quebec and the Eastern United States.

How will you contribute to the team?

• General labour i.e. cleaning, painting and janitorial duties
• Operate packaging equipment
• Forklift and other heavy equipment operation
• Loading bulk trucks
• Dust collection duties
• Sanitation related inspections and cleaning

You bring to the role:

• High school diploma
• Previous manufacturing/industrial equipment operation, and material handling equipment operation is preferred
• Previous forklift experience is preferred
• Must be able to work at heights and confined spaces.
• Strong attention to detail
