Clio is a new private members’ club located in the heart of Toronto’s King West neighbourhood. Situated in a newly reconstructed 4-storey heritage building, the club comprises of lounges, a restaurant, a vibrant bar, cinema, roof terrace and various flexible meeting and private dining rooms.

Job Summary

Clio is looking for a General Manager that will plan and oversee the daily operations of the venue to ensure goals and objectives are achieved.

The ideal candidate in this position must thrive in a dynamic, fast-paced environment, maintaining a courteous demeanour with customers, as well as effectively make use of downtime. Strong leadership and personnel management skills should be accompanied by a customer service orientation and commitment to company values and image.

The General Manager pays close attention to all operational details to ensure the comfort, safety and enjoyment of guests and job satisfaction of staff, as well as the financial success of the establishment.

Duties/Responsibilities:

  • Plans and organizes daily activities related to production and operations.
  • Measures productivity by analyzing performance data, financial data, and activity reports.
  • Coordinates with other departments such as human resources, finance, and logistics to ensure successful club operations.
  • Determines labor needs to meet production goals.
  • Assists with budget preparation for the venue.
  • Coordinates with marketing and sales departments to determine pricing, timing, and number of sales promotions, and products to be sold.
  • Assists with, or prepares and updates, organizations operations manual and policies.
  • Hires and trains new employees.
  • Organizes and oversees the schedules and work of assigned staff.
  • Conducts performance evaluations that are timely and constructive.
  • Handles discipline and termination of employees as needed and in accordance with company policy.
  • Review sales and beverage costs and reconcile any discrepancies in accounting. Ensure proper cash management.
  • Performs other related duties as required.

Required Skills/Abilities:

  • Previous restaurant and management experience preferred.
  • Excellent managerial and supervisory skills.
  • Strong business management skills.
  • Excellent computer, problem-solving and customer service skills.
  • Ability to diffuse tense situations and resolve conflicts.
  • Effectively delegate responsibilities and maximize resources.
  • Extensive knowledge of operations and production management.
  • Ability to interpret financial data as needed to set production goals.
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite or similar software.

Note: salary will be dependent on experience.
